Cycling Championships on June 26 in National Park Hoge Veluwe
The time trial of the Dutch Cycling Championships will come through the Park this year. This has consequences for accessibility on Wednesday 26 June. Various roads in and around the Park are (partly) closed this day.
Accessibility of De Hoge Veluwe National Park on June 26
Entrance Schaarsbergen
Accessible all day. From Schaarsbergen you can reach the Kröller-Müller Museum, where you can park your car. You cannot continue by car to the center area, but you can walk to the center from the Kröller-Müller Museum parking lot. Note: Schaarsbergen entrance is not accessible for coaches.
Entrance Hoenderloo
Accessible until 1:00 pm from the direction of Apeldoorn. Between 1:00 pm and 4:00 pm, closed to traffic.
Entrance Otterlo
Closed to traffic from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. The road from Ede to Otterlo is closed from 8:30 am, so you cannot drive from Harskamp to Otterlo.
Roads inside the Park
The Houtkampweg (this is the road that runs from entrance Otterlo right through the Park to entrance Hoenderloo) and the roads north of it are completely closed from 1 pm to 4 pm.
The road between Schaarsbergen and the Kröller-Müller Museum is open all day.
Roads around the Park
The road from Ede to Otterlo is closed from 8:30 am. Between the office building and Hoenderloo, this road is closed from 1:30 pm. This is the road that runs along the north side of the Park.
Parking area center area
The parking lot in the center of the Park is closed between 1:00 pm and 4:00 pm. Parked cars can leave the parking lot after 4 p.m.
Kröller-Müller Museum
You can reach the Kröller-Müller Museum all day from the Schaarsbergen entrance.
Note: Schaarsbergen entrance is not accessible for coaches.
Audience
Audience is of course welcome to watch the race! We will soon provide more practical information for fans of the Dutch Cycling Championships. Make sure you are present well in advance; Many roads in the Park and the parking lot in the center are closed at exactly 1 p.m.
Recommended viewing locations in De Hoge Veluwe National Park:
1. Houtkampweg near the center
From the center you can walk over the parking lot to the Houtkampweg. You can cheer on the participants from the roadside. Please note: the parking lot and road to the center are closed to traffic between 1 pm and 4 pm, you must be present in the center before that time.
2. Cycle path north of the Bunt
From this cycle path you have a good view of the road where the cyclists ride. The cycle path can be found from the Houtkampweg between Hoenderloo and the center.
3. Houtkampweg between Otterlo and the center
Along the Houtkampweg you can encourage the riders from the roadside.
