Plants are known as the green lungs of our planet and, considering their size, trees are naturally important suppliers of oxygen.

There was a time that sand drifts and moors made up 70% of the park's natural landscape. These days, 65% of the park is forested. It is home to a wide variety of trees, the best known being birch, beech, oak, and pine. Pines are the most common type of tree in the park.
