Fly agaric

More

The fly agaric is perhaps the best known of all toadstools.

It has a very familiar appearance with its red cap with white spots. These white spots are remnants of the shroud the toadstool was cloaked in before it surfaced. The spots can wash off in rainy weather.

The colour of the cap can vary from red to orange with a hint of yellow. This toadstool is toxic, but not as deadly as is often claimed. Simply touching the toadstool has no effect. Eating the entire toadstool, however, may lead to serious poisoning.
