Every year De Hoge Veluwe organizes a weekend in which the horse is central. An event for everyone who loves horses and nature!
On the Picnic meadow in the center area of the Park, everyone can enjoy a varied program on both days between 12 pm and 5 pm.
Horse riders for free during the Weekend of the Horse
Riders who come to the Park on horseback during the weekend do not pay an entrance fee for themselves and their horse.
The Park and the horse
The Park has been closely linked to the horse since its inception. Founders Anton and Helene Kröller-Müller enjoyed riding on horseback for a ride in their Park, alone or with guests. The current director of the Park continues this tradition with Park relations with some regularity. Two private pack hunts are also held every year, where bloodhounds are hunted on a runner. The Park has extensive equestrian routes and route maps for riders are available free of charge at the entrances. There are several connection points with water points in the Park, where riders and their horses can rest for a while.
