European and Dutch Culinary Wild BBQ Championship

During the fourth edition of our Culinary Wild BBQ Championship on Saturday 18 October 2025, the best BBQ teams from home and abroad will compete against each other.
Using local game, the teams prepare Michelin star-level dishes using nothing more than a barbecue or open fire. A jury of master chefs and star chefs will judge all four dishes in the competition.
In recent years, the emphasis on barbecuing has shifted from lots of cheap meat and quick preparation to choosing beautiful ingredients and taking the time to achieve maximum flavour and ultimate tenderness. The event therefore lasts the entire day, with the teams having to submit the various assignments at predetermined times:
12:00 - 13:00: submit assignment 1
13:00 - 14:00: submit assignment 2
14:00 - 15:00: submit assignment 3
15:00 - 16:00: submit assignment 4
The jury, with top chefs who have united in 'The Dutch Cuisine', is located on site at our event grounds. Here you can see how they judge the dishes from 12:00. Attention is paid to presentation, taste and technique.
All the meat is supplied by local butcher Wilbrink from Otterlo; who also provide a demonstration of boning game from 12 noon. The programme will be supplemented with a pleasant market, music and activities for game lovers of all ages. The award ceremony will be held around 4:30 to 5:00 PM in the tent on the event site.
Gotten hungry from the sight and smell of all that delicious food? Then come and enjoy our food truck, which will of course also have the BBQ sizzling during the day. For the little ones we will light a wood fire where they can pop their own popcorn. Children of all ages can participate at the always pleasant Knutselbus on the event site.
